I tripped, I fell, you lied to me
I twisted, I turned, you hide from me
You cast me out, you banished me, I despise you
You warped my mind, you fled my arms, I disown you
How long did such winds blow from the north
Like black dungeons of despair
How long did you abandon me
From knowing the truth was no longer there
What time did you spend amending
Tying knots in broken hair
Was it not worth the waiting
I guess you didn’t care
I tripped, you tricked me
Now fly far from sight
In the lonely hours of the evening
I wish I may I wish I might
Step forth into those old boots, those tatty blue jeans
You were right, a child did save me
And now I live with no regrets, time passes fast
I have dealt with all the suffering you dealt me
For there was no love for me to grieve
