A lad in white Nike trainers, tracky bottoms and
Tracky top with the hood pulled over his head
Spits to the Earth as he walk under the tree
Mindless, thinking of his next hit

An EMO passes by the same way
Under the great tall tree with it's
High branches spilling out over her body
Sheltering her emo tions from the rain

A drunk man staggers under there too
Rests under it's canopy of leaves
Leans against the trunk
Then he too, walks off without thanks

There are many trees like this
All different sorts of tree
Some look pretty than others
Some actually are nicer than others

But we pick and choose to notice the tree
To like the tree, to admire the tree
To hate the tree, to love the tree
And the thing is, we are like trees
