There once was a flower
That grew on a tower
It grew so high
It touched the sky

There once was a man
That walked by thy side
He looked up at the tower
And saw the pretty flower

He thought to climb the tower
And pick the multi coloured flower
But the tower was very, very high
He was scared to climb in case he died

So he decided to climb the spiral staircase
That he saw through the keyhole but the door was locked
He bent over to scratch his legs
And found that the key was there in his socks

He opened the door
And what stood before
A big hairy monster all furry and green
Oh so scary and very mean

The monster was friendly, though he did look mean
So the man asked the monster about the flower he’d seen
He asked him the price and the monster replied
It is not for sale, and the man grew pale

For he wanted to give it to his beautiful wife
Give me the flower or I’ll send out my knight
My knight has a gun
And will shoot you alive

The monster offered a seed instead
And the man excepted, pleased not to be dead
So he returned to his wife who was so full of life
For he’d returned once and for all, never to leave her alone on her broken stool

She planted the seed
With much love and care
Now whenever you pass
You’ll see the flower there
