Life isn’t meant to be a breeze,

It’s full of failure, luck, joy, and disease.

Our bodies sprout teeth, nails and hair,

We learn to speak, cheat, and share.

Friends and foes come and go,

Through this life that is just a show.

Cities trample across all of nature.

Wealth is simply a caricature.

Railways vomited over the land,

As aeroplanes began to play their own hand.

Figures and digits help us to pretend,

That we are simply just a trend.

A dot on the surface of the globe,

Like the human cell, that can only be seen by a probe.

Some cells are better at hide and seek,

Whilst others have a slightly different tweak.

They play for a different team,

Defy those natural biological seams.

Ravishing on those great white knights,

The ones who normally can’t lose a fight.

No matter how much money we make,

There is only so much our shell can take.

Flour bombs and needles, it’s all the same

Something else to chance the game.

Like the railway, we are made up of tracks,

Fate, in the form of infection, will forge new cracks.

That weaken our senses, and fuel our hate.

But ultimately, you cannot fight fate.
