 I Think This Anger ...

I think his Being now will go
And learn of things I cannot know

I think my sorrow at his leaving
Is for myself and of my grieving

I think this sense of great unkind
Is from my being left behind

I think the great abandonment
Is I can’t follow where he went

My desolation rides the back
Of understandings that I lack

I think this anger's jealousy
Is my own longing to be free

I think my tirade at On High
Is I am left not high but dry

I think this knowing of like-kind
Is worse when loss fast follows find

I think that what I’m being taught
Is truly feel and know heart-caught

I think this lesson from my friend
Is love and loss both start and end

I think my living have, then lose,
Will yield all answers if I choose
