My friend Patience says
Those who live in stone houses
Should never throw glass

Okay - that works (or rather doesn't!) too! thanks for stopping by and commenting. Many regards, Connie
but throwing glass is wonderful. Tell me there isnt a curtain satifaction when it shatters. Flourecent strip lights are the best. But even that has been banned now beacuse they fill the air with nasty argon gas and mercury particles.
I thought this funny as could be when I heard it. So I asked Pat (Patience) if I could post it - giving her name. And she gave me her permission, so I have.
Just a side note, but your 'curtain' pun is very satisfying. Made me smile - no, grin. Big.
And another side note, I hate strip lighting. Too harsh. I'm for small lamps and their soft lighting.
Good to see your name. All best, Dibs. Connie
I've found that an ego made of glass makes for one shattering experience; eh, ha, ha! Oh boy, better call it a night. Okay, it's a night! Boy, I can always tell when I'm getting tired; I start rambling and making no-very-funny comments, much like the one above; excellent Connie!
Glass egos lead to shattering experiences??? -- Okay it's a night??? Laughed right out loud, I did.
Those are both like the bit: "Surely, you jest, sir." "Oh no I don't, and don't call me Shirley!"
You are a funny fellow, Mike. Have a good night (heh heh heh- still laughing). Many regards, Connie
Smashing poem - No pun intended.
Patience is a friend of mine and this was her inspiration. I simply had to share it, it's play on the old saw too delicious to keep to myself. She gave me permission after changing "folks" to "those" and grudgingly accepting "never" in place of "not" - necessary in order to meet the requirement of 5 syllables.
I love your comment. Will pass it on. (Gingerly!) Thanks so much, Connie
ooh....i like that a lot
She's a corker, my friend Patience. We joke that I'm Constance and she's Patience. Looking for Piety - Haven't found her yet.
Your haiku are always great. You really say a lot in 17 syllables. I love it!
Thanks, lady. Thanks for the kind comment. So glad to see your name here. Many thanks. Connie
