The man that all should fear
A man that I know inch by inch
He's shorter than most of all my other lovers
He's really sweet & extremely polite
He's the one I wanna cuddle every fucking night
I knew the instant I met him
That our lives would forever be entangled
That twinkle in his eye gave it all away
He's a fine sexy man, even in his lowrider jeans
Catch him in a suit and his fedora & it's game over
The times we've spent together
Were steamy, intense & intoxicating
We hardly spent anytime outside of my bedroom
We were always huddled together in bed
Even if he was working
Sipping warm tea & having toast with honey
Watching YouTube videos all day
Occasionally we'd take a break
When my subtle physical advances
Could no longer be resisted
His kisses tiny & sweet
He knew every inch of my body off by heart
He took time to really make love to me
To him, I was sweet ... jus' like honey
Even ... to this day
The only thing keeping us apart
Is that we live in two different worlds &
Our lives rarely collide & intersect
To get an email from him
It's like a National Holiday
As it is quite rare
I wish I could find out
How often he thinks of me
Because, I know he still cares ...
I just wanna know how often he thinks of me
Does he think of me as often as I think of him?
When I used to bake for him
He could never get enough
He raved about my culinary skills
Always confirming there would be
Plenty more classes when we finally arrived in Kenya
Yes ... you heard it right
He's African ... from the Kikiyu Tribe
I was learning to speak Swahili
Maybe the Universe was sending me a sign
Cuz our timing always seemed to be just a lil off
We worked opposite schedules
We lived at opposite ends of the city
When we shared time together
It was magical & like no other
But I always had this nagging feeling
That he was testing my patience
As I look back, I'm beginning to see
No miracle is gonna bring us two together as one
It just wasn't meant to be
