***For Fantasy writer's Feathery Feelings poetry challenge***

An emulation of Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope (is a thing with feathers)". I actually had to do this for school when we were studying Macbeth. We had to pick an emotion that is evident throughout the whole play and compare it with an animal. The animal I chose - the raven - is also mentioned in Macbeth. I hope you enjoy it - your comments are much appreciated :)

A/N: I am not a poetry writer. My strengths definitely lie with novels and short stories.

Fear is a thing with wings

That flies through one’s mind,

And screeches of horrendous things

Hidden in darkness, hard to find,

Which are most terrifying when you are low;

So great must be the object’s light

That could shoot down the dark, dark crow

That gave so many a fright,

It’s been heard even in the brightest place,

Which still rings with its shrill caws,

Yet no one has ever seen its face,

Creating fear using your greatest flaws.

Wow that's quite good. One of my favorite so far! If I don't get any new participants in the next week. I'll be closing further entries.I already have about thirteen. So you might get the results very soon.
