“Why me O Lord?” was my soulful cry;
pain too intense, too deep to bear.
Joined as one until we both shall die,
a lifelong love we vowed to share.
But my first and only love betrayed my trust.
A loving heart pierced, then torn from my chest;
discarded and trampled into wind blown dust.
Oh why was I sent on this lonesome quest?
I pray to You, Father, on bended knee.
My head bowed low and with nowhere else to turn,
heal my spirit through Your Word is my plea.
Quench this fiery anger; no longer let it burn.
Replace it with forgiveness, Your grace, Your love;
as I search for the “Bright and Morning Star” above.
