She lay sprawled on her back across the floor, eyes closed, listening to the radio on full blast. She didn't even hear the sound of foot steps as the came at her. She felt someone next to her and opened her right eye to see what, or who, was there. He lay there next to her, eyes closed, listening to the music too. There was a slight smile tugging at his lips. She smiled and sat up, looked down at him and laughed. He opened his eyes and smiled back up at her. He too sat up and looked her in the eyes. She blushed and looked away. He reached out and lightly pulled her chin back around. Her blush deepened to a darker red and he smiled. Slowly, he leaned in, pressing his lips to hers. He flet her smile under his lips and he pulled away slightly. She moved closer to him and closed the open space. CRASH CRASH Thunder and lightning roared outside and the lights flicked, then went out. The radio shut off and it was silent. She pulled away and looked around the room. It was almost completely dark inside her living room, except for the flashes from outside the window. She sat back down infront of him. He shifted to a sittimg postion right next to her and reached around looking for her hand. Before he could find it, she stood up and snagged her hoodie off the chair. He stood up and alloked at her with a confused look. She just smiled and took his hand. He, still confused, follwed her outside. Big dropplets of rain fell from the sky and she walked him out into the middle of the street. Lightning crashed and she laughed. He grabbed her other hand and twirled her around. They laughed in the rain for about ten minutes before the lightning seemed to get closer and the rain came down harder. They barely took notice, and lightning struck a light pole and sparks flew all around them. She squealed and ducked into his arms. She looked at him and realized their faces were only inches apart. He looked down at her and smiled. She couldn't do anything but smile back. She felt her heart melt when she looked into his eyes. He chuckled slightly and kissed her. She sighed deeply and kissed him back. He hled her tight and the rain died down. They ran back inside and noticed the power was still out. She rummaged through some drawers and found a flashlight and batteries. Putiing the batteries iin the radio, she handed him the flashlight and turned it to a news channel. The reporters said the power would be out for a while. She shrugged and turned to see he wasnt there. She just picked up the flashlight and looked around for some candles. She was unsucessful. She shook her head and walked into her bedroom. She stepped out of her jeans and climbed into her bed. For some reason, the bed was warm. She looked around and saw a small flicker of light. Focusing on it, she realized it eas a small flame. She stood up and walked across the roombut something caught her as she went to walk forward. She spun around and saw him standing there. there was a row of smaller candles lined up behind him. Awe struck, she stared at him. He smiled and held her close. She streched up on her toes to kiss him. He kissed her back. She smiled and he pulled away. He put up one finger to her lips to shush her complaints before they could escape her mouth. Turning, he blew out all the candles and moved over to her bed. She follwed and curled up next to him. Then she fell asleep in his arms, listening to the rain tapping on the window...
