That Monetary Christmas.

Christmas, my friend is a means to an end

And I know that you`ll think that I`m funny,

But when all`s said and done, it isn`t much fun,

Unless you`ve got plenty of money!

That glorious day has been all swept away

By unscrupulous traders and jerks,

And by misrepresentation, damned near every nation

Climbs in, not for Christ, but for perks!

Oh yes it is true, for me and for you

Who remember the Birth of our Lord,

Most sit in the pews, and forget the good news,

And keep wondering what they can afford!

It`s strange thinking back, to that Innkeepers shack

Where Lord Jesus lay sleeping so still,

It`s because those three Kings brought Him…Gold, Myrr and things

That we all end up broke, at the till!

Tradition they say, will never give way

To ideas that are modern and smart,

So I`ve thought up a plan, try it out if you can,

Don`t give presents any more, give your heart!
