THE UNKNOWN

By Samari Acevedo

Light

Its apparent warm pressence

Burns off the flesh of

The horribly tormented

Its kind outstretched hands

Seems more like a

Deep cut of a

Long narrow ragged blade.

To those lucky enough

To be sheilded

Our rejecton seems

Unecasarily cruel

To us who have

Awakened beside the

Devil's demons and have

Walked In Hells shadows.

The light is full

Of the unknown

To the enlightened

Where light holds

Love happiness and hope

Its holds none of that for us

Instead it holds

Fear suspicion and Danger

The light is our unknown

The light is ours to be feared

The light is our darkness

The darkness is our light
