His hands, cold and lifeless, hold me
I hope for my eyes to see
The beauty of his eyes, the color of rain
I close my heart to the pain

But his hands are nothing but a dream
And he is nothing as he seems
My heart is out and full, all for him
He has left me all alone and my world is dim

I hate that he can make me feel
This pain that wants my heat to kill
I shut my eyes, hurting and crying
While my soul is slowly dying

Together we were one, whole and true
I can thing of only the love I once knew
His kind arms and strong embrace
The gentle kisses and beautiful face

The man I thought was my soul mate
I will never love again to this date
He shattered my heart and spirit
Taking my love and life with it

His hands, cold and lifeless, held me
I had hoped for my eyes to see
Struggling against it is a hard enough feat
To see the lies that are buried beneath
