Unknown Faces
They the photo’s on the streetlamp. The children on the street. The face on your milk carton. They are just faces. No love, no pity, no emotion. They are only faces.
You see them as things. They are not people, they are not real. They are faces. The faces that have come up missing. They probably deserved it, you try to tell yourself. They do not deserve my pity. They are merely faces.
But those faces had families and friends. They were loved and cherished. They had names. But you do not call them by those names. You call them tramps, hoes, hookers, whores. Illegitimate, stupid, useless, wretched. You do not care for them.
They are faces. Nameless, stupid faces that come up at the worst possible times. Unknown faces.
