We live, love, die. That’s life, simple but complex.

Numb.  She felt numb. She couldn’t feel. It wasn’t the months of crying herself to sleep, night after night. It wasn’t the excruciating, relentless, numbing pain she felt in her heart; squishing it so hard she could only wish for it to explode. Explode with anger. Explode with guilt. Explode with regret. Explode with anxiety. Explode with joy! Explode with love! Explode with laughter! Explode! Just explode!

She sat, crouched in a corner of a dimly lit room. The filthy walls of the empty room only drew her in. The cold dirty grimy floor gave her solace. The stuffy sweet odour gave her peace.

She laughed. She cried. She screamed. Finally, she just was.

Closing her eyes and shutting out the silence she smiled.

“This is life” she told herself as she raised her weary self and made her way to the door.
