I watch from my window as the fire warms my face

There are cars speeding by in the holiday race

Malls are packed with warmly dressed people

Lights are hung everywhere, even the church steeple

People gather presents for family and friends

Everyone is looking for the new season trends

A fire burns deep in my heart

As I take in the carols and some beautiful art

When the sun goes away and the lights turn on

Snow gently falls on my sparkling winter lawn

I take in the joy and the holiday cheer

And I mark my calendar every day I get near.
