Alone in a world without reason
In a minefield of torturous thoughts
A gut wrenching emptiness
And completely distraught

Unable to comprehend
This person inside
Now broken and twisted
Nobody can mend

Someone we knew
A mess at times
Just crying for love
And devotion due

It’s gone and for what?
Envy and greed
His own selfish pride
His just desserts he’s certainly got

He had his chances
Opportunities abound
And then threw them away
So other attention she found

Broken
Alone and rejected
Dishevelled and fractured
Soul now departed

She loved him once
And endured much pain
His past haunting their lives
Now it’s happened again

There’s no words of measure
To detail his place
Just pain staking memories
That people should treasure

The why’s and how’s
And who’s and when’s
Tormenting destroying
His mind again

Fallen and falling
Cheated and robbed
Frustrated and angry
No-one hearing his calling

Never was he aware
That no matter what happened
The love of his life
Could leave him so bare

He was a boy once
And became a man
His ghosts became buried
His future began

They struggled and strived
They fought all the odds
Beat their fair share of troubles
On their doorstep arrived

Now look at what’s left
A man left in pieces
Alone and depreft

Two innocent children
A mother of guilt
The bastard she cheat with
Under the quilt

His unknowing partner
Expecting his twins
The lives they’ve wrecked
And he walks and wins

It’s unsure now
What the future holds
For all of these people
Of which this sad stories told
There’s one thing we do know
A lesson to behold
Tread carefully with loved ones
Potential damage goes untold.
