Can you believe me when I say, “I’ a vampire, and I’m one of the three most powerful vampires.” Yes, of course you can. But you won’t; because you don’t know about the well kept secret of the night world. Now you know what I am, I’ve told what I am, and now I’m going to let you see what it’s like in part of the world that you don’t know about.

It was a dark, moonlit night. I was hunting on the streets of New York, and this night seemed like the best out of the last four nights I had been here feeding. Unlike my other fellow vampires my thirst was always getting on my nerves and was always breaking my concentration when I needed it the most. The streets were filed with humans, and I was having a quiet a time not losing my control. And taking all of them instead of just one or two. I could feel another vampire was near, watching his territory. I probably wouldn’t be a harm to him if he was weak, but if he wasn’t… Well I would have my hands full. I looked around trying to find a suitable meal for me. I spotted a stumbling, drunk man twenty- feet ahead of me. I was beside the man in a blink of an eye. I pushed him roughly so that he stumbled back several feet in front of an alley way. I moved in front of him before he could regain composers or say anything, and pushed him again and he fell into the alley way. He was laying in a shallow pool of dirty water in a daze. He looked up at me with lazy eyes,” What – “ I cut him off with my hand going around his neck. I picked him up and threw him against the alley wall. I could hear several of his bones brake as he slammed sideways into the wall with a loud thud. I was lucky that I wasn’t some fledgling that had no clue how to use their mental powers that vampire poses. I hid what I was doing and the drunken man’s screams for help with a mental shield against the passing by humans. The shield kept them from hearing or seeing what was happening. I walked slowly toward the man, who was in a ball of pain now do to his broken ribs and broken left arm. I picked the man up by his throat and shoved him against the wall. The pulse of the man rang in my ears as it was in his, and I could smell the sweet liquid I craved. Before he could tell what was coming I sank my fangs into his neck. A cry of pain came from the man, and then his struggle to get away slowly faded as I drank.

I could feel the vampire I felt a several minutes ago approaching. I hoped he or she wasn’t some fledgling that thought they could just pick what city was theirs and keep the rest out. Because, truthfully, I wasn’t in the mood I had just fed, and the shield I had to keep the entire time I was feeding took a lot out of me. I threw the body of the now dead man into the dumpster in the middle of the alley way. I turned to go along with my own business, but instead right there, right in front of me, was the other vampire. And his aura wasn’t young and still part human like a fledgling like I thought it would be. But instead he was the only other vampire that was stronger than I.

“What are you doing?” I couldn’t help but to cringe away. His voice was beyond angry. It was infuriated, and truthfully he had all the right to be.
“Feeding.” My voice wavered a little, but enough that he knew that I was afraid, even though he could most likely detect that in my aura.
His face was like ice, and showed no other emotion but anger. “You shouldn’t have come here to feed to night.” And he pulled out a knife from under his jacket.

I really don’t know how a survived that night. I was about killed, forever. But, thankfully, he let me go with only a huge scar on my arm and a scar on my pride.

But I have to tell you I will get revenge on him.

And that is a little piece of a world you will never know.
