Finally, I was back in English class. I loved English because I could show that I can shine even off the field. Whenever I have to go up to the board I’m never nervous. We were all in our seats listening to Mr. Finch talk about preparing a persuasive essay when the classroom door opened and a guy walked in. He was about 5” 10 with close-cropped hair and green eyes. His skins appeared completely flawless and smooth. He was wearing a prep school uniform which was weird seeing as he was at a public school. He hands Mr. Finch a pass and Mr. Finch stands up.

“Class,” He begins. “This is Alex McHale and he transferred here from Fall Prep so let’s welcome him respectfully,”
All the girls in the class had their eyes glued on him. For some reason, I had my eyes glued too. I couldn’t believe he was demeaning my attention without even knowing. He was cute even for a prep school snob. He looks around and his eyes stop on me. I unknowingly become even more self-aware checking my every move. My heart starts racing a mile a minute. I couldn’t understand why I was reacting this way and all he did was look at me. He walks past me and I catch the scent of chocolate. He sits next to me and my heart finally settles down. I wanted to look at him but the bell rang.

As I gathered my belongings, Mr. Finch approached me. He put his hand on my shoulder and I sigh. I already knew what he was going to ask.
“Max, could you please show please show Alex around?” He asked, begging.

“Mr. Finch, why me?” I asked, sighing.
“Because I know you’re the friendliest guy here,” He answered, smiling. I groan and nod.

I left the classroom and saw him fumbling with his locker. He was pulling on the latch but it wasn’t opening. He pulls one more time and the locker flies open and he falls to the ground. I laugh as I run over to him.
“Are you ok?” I asked, laughing still.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” He answered, sitting up. I snicker and he smiles.
“It’s not funny!” He yells, playfully.

“No. Course not,” I said, trying to keep a straight face.
“Could you help me up?” He asked.

I lend out my hand and he grabs it. I felt instant heat coming from his hand. I pull him up and he brushes off his dress shirt. He looks at me and then at his locker.
“Two stupid things I’ve dealt with today,” He said, pouting.

I didn’t respond because he was only venting and he didn’t really need an enemy on his first day of school. He closes his locker and picks up his bag.
“Do you know where your next class is?” I inquired.

“Just back off!” He yelled.
He storms away and I went to my next class. While I was in my next class, I was freaking out. Why would he just tell me to back off out of nowhere? I couldn’t wrap my mind around what was happening. It’s like today was crazy day or something.

Last period finally ended and I walked to my locker. Emily was waiting for me with anticipation in her eyes. I was dreading what she possibly had to tell me. Just listen and nod attentively I told myself. I reached for her and she kisses me and puts her back against the locker. She pulls on my shirt and I lean closer to her and putting my hand on the locker close to her face.
“So, have you seen the new hottie?” She asked. The question automatically hit a nerve with me.

“Yes. And he’s a jackass,” I replied.
“Oh, come on. I was kidding. He’s not hotter than you,” She replied back, biting her bottom lip.

“I know. He just sort of blew up at me earlier,” I said, rolling my eyes.
“I’m sure it was nothing,” She replied, smiling.

I turn my attention down the hall and saw Alex making his way towards me. I notice that his hair bounced when he walked which struck me as cute. Me and Emily both watched as he walked. I think she was interested just as much as I was. He stops in front of me and looks at me with those green eyes. Damn, those green eyes were amazing. The more he looked the more I felt intrigued.
