The feeling of losing someone you love deeply.

So Lost without you

my body buckled
I dropped straight to my knees
I lost my mind, I lost my strength
I lost sight I couldn’t see

one minute you were with me
felt like seconds and you were gone
I didn’t think I could ever feel
so completely lost

I feel so many colours, mostly red and mostly blue
and even though I rage with anger, feeling blue powers through

I cried a river
I screamed out a storm
Now I am dry like the desert
as the tears they did sod all

My heart is always shadowed
stalked and tailed by pain
weights pulling on my heart strings
as I try and live each day

I see a distant light
I’m told soon I will be there
that’s the day I will have learnt to cope
simply without you there

Time helps emotional wounds but they never really heal. But please take comfort that you still have memories of your loved one and as long as you remember the good they brought into your life, then they are never really gone. Thank you for sharing this very heartfelt and inspirational poem.
