Another poem about corona

I look outside and think

 It is quiet

 Not as many cars

 Less people

The one person I see has a mask. To either not get sick

or to prevent others from getting sick

No other people

Just family

Can only facetime

No contact in person

School by myself

In my room

 alone

I notice

How many cars there used to be

How many people I talked to day to day

How much no school has changed my life

How much this virus has changed my life

I used to wait forever to cross the street

I used to talk to people I didn’t want to talk to

I used to have not much alone time

I used to have a lot of responsibilities

Now I wish for all of the things I used to have

I look outside and think

What will this do?

But my mind can’t wrap around the thought on

What exactly will this do

So I sit at my desk doing school

 Over and over again

I think about what I would be doing if I had school

 My pencil writes my thought

Leaving a trail of a new life

a story

 or just a fact

It longs to be borrowed by someone

Anyone

Just to be able to see others

But no

It sits in my room,

never being used by anyone but me

Oh, how I wish

I could do more than look outside and think

when will this end.

A very well-observed piece of poetry. Nicely written and presented too.
