Unfathomable forces,

A current,

A tide,

Drifting us apart.

Away from one another,

Outstretched hands,

Betrayed feelings,

Unknowing of another life, another possibility.

The raging of an inner fire,

Fanned by a hurricane of wind,

Quelled by a deluge of rain,

Ripping us apart, the ultimate earthquake.

I tried to hold on, believe me,

I tried.

But the human spirit, the motivation of love,

Is bound by not only mortal limitation.....

But chance occurrences, as well.

The inner working of a secret destiny,

Plotting, planning.....

Until what's right doesn't matter.

Until love ceases to exist,

And companionship is dead.

Until the world doesn't make sense,

And what is unfair, and unjust....

Is the norm,

The true way of life.

They can take you away from me,

And you can forget about me,

But a piece of me will always be a part of you......

And that's something nothing, or nobody,

Can ever, ever take away.

No matter how powerful, or how unjust,

Those forces are.......

Those unfathomable forces.
