A beautiful face watching
a beautiful escape
and all I need to get by

Could you take me for a walk
in the night as the world sleeps
'cause I'm tired of walking alone

the roads are so long
winding and never-ending
just walk beside me

The wind kicks up the rain
tiny teardrops in the air
I catch them in my eyes

Beauty is all around me
and inside me, yet
I can't feel it anymore

The trees are barren with
naked branches, broken
looking like death's fingers

It's only an illusion
a quiet misunderstanding
death— is not sleeping

One day I will see her again
a child smiling
a beautiful face in the mirror
