The drive grows longer with the cold nights
Steam pours out from the bellies of the open road
Naked tree branches reach out to me
like bony fingers on a skeleton hand

The moon shines bright through the open sky
throwing a bluish hue over the lands
Frost dances on the tips of the night
as dark reflections shadow the ground

My breath is visible like death
or smoke streaming from a lit cigarette
As it dissipates in front of my eyes
I blink at another thing gone

Time rolls over as a faded digital light
Through the dusty windshield I see the future
White lines charge at me like mad bulls
And an endless,?open road taunts me
