Poetry

One more before I go
I won't leave you at the door anymore
but I don't think these hands can be warmed again

Don't ask me what it means
because even I don't know anymore

They come out of me like aliens
foreign and destructive
they are their own minds now

even I don't know

I'll take the chance and leap for hope
I'll walk the highwire with my eyes closed

One more thought before I go
I won't push you out the door anymore
but your hands, they are as cold as mine

I'll warm them with my lips
and breath from my heart
in hopes of your recovery

but

even I don't know anymore

So one last thing before I go
I'll reach for your hand and not fight it anymore
I won't fight it anymore
