A A A

Walking for days and days in the desert heat
the sun is blocked out by darkness
Not a storm coming in, no
but a cloud—

a fog

surrounding and confounding me

It's a black cloak that envelops my being
I carry it with me,
heavy on my shoulders
It leaves death in it's wake

Sift through the ashes and black coals—

can you find your soul?
