A poem I wrote to an ex-lover, although he turned out to be a cheater/liar, he provoked an emotion inside me so profound that I became bolder, more confident and more of who I am truly.

I am overwhelmed by the way

You can crawl under my skin

To crack open my ribs

And see my heart from within

Never have I let

Someone see the edges of my soul

Never have I let

A person make me whole

I have searched the corners of the world

Looking for the answer to ease my mind

To fill the voids of questioning

As to why love was so hard to find

By chance we met on a spontaneous night

Just one touch, one kiss, one moment with you

The questioning I had began to cease

You made me feel new

I've been engulfed like a wave

Crashing against the shore

When I stare into your eyes

I'm longing for more

The minutes passed so swiftly

When hypnotized by your smile

There was no other person I wanted

Not now, not later, not in awhile

I am overwhelmed by this love

So please do not flee

I am learning as I go

Be patient with me

I'm terribly naive

And quite often too kind

But I know one thing is for sure

There is no greater love than yours that I could find
