Sat in my window

Wrapped in a throw

Mug of tea in my hand

Time starts to slow

Rain at the window

Memories in my head

Happy times, sad times

Memories I thought dead

But I'm sat here at my window

Safe from bad things

Listening to the rain

Letting my soul grow wings

I think of all the homeless

Getting soaked to the skin

How miserable and lonely

Have they no next of kin?

I should abandon this throw

And set out to fight

Fight on their behalf

And do what is right

But my attempts would be useless

Who'd listen to a kid?

This needs crowds and adults

Money and homes. Then a lid.
