Wallowing in History

I wallow
in your history
and your tomorrow..
to get inside your soul
before warmth grows cold
to comprehend
your depths in whole
your seeds you plant
within me
that I may see
leaves from trees
that blow when you sneeze
see
I have come accustomed
to desire knowledge from old
that I may pass along
when I am gone
so that my seeds
like reeds
can blow in the wind and
still stand tall and strong
they think life
is all fun and games
they wake up dying
lay down -its the same
only concerned with
what set they claim
we must take time to teach
lean forward and reach
backwards and bring them
into a new season
teach them their past
then modernize them fast
remind them there is a new reason
there are diamonds, bronze
silvers and gold
within their veins
from ancient olds
they've been carried
for centuries
set apart since beginnings
and now its time for Kings
to sit on their thrones
So yes I am free
because free begins with me
and free is where
I will remain to be
For I study the cause
Give my ancestors applause
they did that so I could see
Now with my third eye open
I dont bumble around gropin
for something to sustain me
in the dark
I simply love me more
Walk strong through doors
and remember to give praise
from my heart!
Free at last
Free at last
Thanking God for Dr. King
for I am free at last...
