A modern time of Romeo and Juliet. Little more gruesome.

She froze and was barely more than a statue, when the only man she ever loved, laid on her arms. Crimson tainted blood was seeping out of the bullet-made wound.
She shook herself awake and felt for a pulse, her two fingers resting on his neck. But instead of a rhythmic beating, it was a still and dead.
Out of panic, she tried to pump air into his body. She wiped her lips and breathed air into him. But it wasn't working
Her body shook in despair. She slapped his face, hoping for him to wake up. But he did no more than carry the slumber he was in.
As horror overwhelmed her, she felt at the ground, hoping she would find a gun, a knife, a weapon, or anything to end the life she was living without him.
Her hands rest on a fairly large shard of glass, she squeezed it. It was the remedy to death. Her hands bled from the action, but she was unaware. Pain was nothing less than a pinch to her now.
She traced the glass on her neck, moving towards her pulse. When her goal was met, she plunged the shard into it, hard and deep. Just enough to end her own life.

Jaded Beauty

I love how you wrote this. Much more dramatic and gruesome. Very vivid imagery. I was drawn into this.

Thank you! I've always been partly unsatisfied with what Hollywood did. They make movies about modern Romeo and Juliet tales, but it left me feeling dumbfounded.
