I've wasted so much time

Chasing some fabled golden light

Some call it happiness, but I know it's just a lie

And as my hope dies before I do

As the flame burns out inside

I finally know the truth

That keeps me from searching the rest of my life

I swear I've looked in all the places it could be

But in the end I guess I don't know what it means

So I can only stare into the abyss of my life

Wonder what I did so wrong

That warrants my dreams to die
