It all began on a stormy, winters day,
when I finallypopped out.
Every one sighed and said “finally”!Through the rain I was escorted home, the ray of sunshine, One day old.
As I grew I discovered I was quiet, shy and an introvert.
I preferred hanging out with myself,
then with family or anyone else.
As for friends? Who cared, I was 8 and books kept me awake, long through the night.
Entering my first double number “10”
I matured early and soon found that the word sport and Me,
went quite well together. From horse-riding to body boarding,
my faze with skateboarding and martial arts,
through my obsession of basketball.
Sports! I went through them all,my obsessions didn’t last.
I zoomed past my preteen years, and excitedlyas I enteredmy teens big "13”I realized being old, is all about wishing you were younger.“BIG
In grade 8, joining karate was a big step upwards,
i felt great!
I renewed my self-esteem, charged up my confidence and carried on life ,
with a new set of batteries.
And now I am on apit-stop at 14,
an even but unsteady number.
As I look back, I discover I’ve grown.
From my first friend, to my first zit,
From mud-cake, tea-parties, to sleepovers,
From being a tom boy, to the whole girl-girl thing,
From books, to bikes,
From my time of jahiliyah(ignorance)
from darkness into light
Counting down the years, I recall:
Through hardship, blood, and tears
Boy! I’m glad I made it through the years!
And it is here, that I stand,
with my poem in hand
