kain has dreamed his whole life of becoming a necromancer. finally, after giving up his whole life, he and his only friends, Canis, the wolf-mage, and Kirrah, the druid, are accepted into the only necromantic shcool in the country. overjoyed, they journey there, and learn more of the ways of the dead. the routine is soon broken, though, as Kain finds out about a rogue necromancer who will teach him things the school bans. He, Canis, and Kirrah head for the school, and once there, start learning. Kirrah is attacked by the necromancers' minions and thrown out, presumed dead by kain. kain continues to study, but only so that one day he can kill the necromancer and avenge kirrah. he does so, and on the way, exposure to demonic magic twists his mind, driving him insane. he eventually believes that the old necromantic school is a threat to the art and the balance of life and death, so he joins forces with the shadow druids and attacks the school. blessed by the god of death and wielding his sword, can the school survive with only the help of its students, the druids, and the favored of the moon goddess?
