Morning Light

Breaking dawn arise,
through drenched city streets,
oceans gone salty and dry,
cloudy mountain peaks.

The Gods’ laugh at us,
they pity what they create,
for we control nothing,
we don’t come close, we can’t relate.

Pain, death and sorrow,
we fight for a muddy heap,
instead of solving conflicts,
we dig our graves deep.

The Gods’ fight, oh yes,
but they have a better reason,
for they fight for us, for peace,
and to crush out others’ treason.

The God’s must be flawed-
for what good can it do,
to create people as we are,
a species so evil and untrue?

Even when the dust clears,
and morning light glows,
the Gods’ stand superior,
as our nations blood still flows.
