I wrote this a couple years back, just found it again, thought I'd share it.

A Goodbye

Written By: Dakota-colt Meshake

I hold here close,

I could feel her slow breathes,

Feel the long pauses in between each,

Tears roll down my face,

"Hey," she says,

I look at her,

Deep in her eyes,

"Don't cry," she says,

Caressing my face,

My grip tightens around her,

"It doesn't hurt," she says,

I cry a little harder,

"Don't leave me," I cry,

She smiles,

"I'd never leave you."

Her breathing stops,

It's suddenly so quiet,

She's motionless,

I hold her as close as I can,

I start to shake,

Start to cry harder,

Suddenly so cold,

So alone,

My world has ended,

My time has stopped,

I am now empty,

I hold her for all eternity.
