Let the sleeping dogs lie,

Don't touch them or yell their name,

They'll just get angry and hurt you.

Snapping and being bitter,

That's what you do, dog.

I'm not important to you unless you need love and attention,

But you still expect me to be yours.

I guess I don't know what to do.

I'm letting sleeping dogs lie,

Like you do to me every day.

Told me I was beautiful,

Told me it was true,

Told me you loved me,

Well, dog, you can't lie anymore.

I see past it,

And it's time to put you down.

You'll lie forever,

Just to bring it back,

But it's not helping me anymore,

Just hurting me.

Stop, please.

I'm sick of letting you sleep and lie,

Keeping it easy for you.

Because it's all about you,

And it always has.

Good night, my sleeping dog.

Good night.
