Sweaty hands

Achy feet

I bend to the left and stretch.

Heart thumping

Pulse rising

I bend to the right and stretch.

I listen to the lyrics from my heart

I close my eyes and fantasize

I get up and I walk.

Standing there between to black, endless streams

I block all voices, all faces

I get on the stage and dance.

And when I am done I take a deep breath

Sweat trickles down my face

I bow, exhausted

But in my heart, I know I've won.

And with my head held high I walk off the stage.
