When you think of the word welcome

To me, I see a house

I see a place mat at the door

And I see children on the floor.

 

When you first walk in and are welcomed

To me, I stand straight and put on a smile

You first tentavily scan the room

And let the scents consume.

 

When you sit after being welcomed

To me, the couch is comfy

They might offer a drink and food

And you accept to not seem shrewd.

 

When you go home from being welcomed

To me, I think of the day

I process what just happened

And smile for I might go again.
