I guess I'm a superhero now.
One zap of lightning, and poof! Powers. Flying, strength, xray vision, everything. I've already saved one kitten from a tree, and gave it to a very freaked out but thankful 5 year old. But then my super-hearing picked up something alarming. Screams, shouts, panic. I fly over.
Hey look, it's a robbery. They have a gun, but that doesn't scare me. I swing down to the front of the store and walk in through the door, the bell ringing as I step inside. The robber panics, and swings towards me.
BANG.
Wow, I never realized that guns were so loud. I feel the bullet hit me, crumple against my skin, flattened completely before falling to the ground. I don't even stumble. I have so much power. I could kill every person cowering on the floor with my bare hands. They can't do anything to me. I am invincible, untouchable. I am above them, and all their petty weaponry.
I step up in front of the trembling burglar, who stands staring wide eyed at me, gun still pointed at my chest. I gently lift the weapon from his fingertips, and he stumbles back, tripping over his own feet. He is on the floor, a fitting place for such a pitiful mortal. I smile. Look in his eyes. Pull the trigger three times. Guns are so loud. Someone will have to clean up the mess, but it wont be me. I notice a bag next to the corpse. I look inside. That is a lot of money, and my car could use an upgrade. I look up. The shop owner is staring at the body on the ground, mouth agape. He doesn't seem that interested in the money. I shrug, and walk out the door.
I'm a superhero now. And I think I deserve a reward.
