There was once this kid who would always be alone, not only because he was forced into it, but because he preferred it. He lived his life never getting close to anyone. He got home every day to absent parents who would only ever stop by there to scream at him. He grew thinking that the world hated him and so he hated the world. He became an expert killer. Doomed to a life full of killing, traveling the world on jobs to get rid of people. Eventually, he grew so used to it that death didn't bother him anymore. The years went by and his solitude only ever grew stronger, contemplating suicide as he sat in his bed every day, but never being able to pull the trigger. His miserable existence went on until one day when he met this young little boy. They had crashed on a street and the boy collapsed. This man took the kid to a hospital and found out the reason why he collapsed was from hunger. That boy was homeless, without a family to take care of him and spent his days alone in the streets. He left his life of killing behind and decided to formally adopt this young boy and take care of him, be his father. For the first time, he allowed himself to have some company, to take care of someone other than himself, to love. One day, out of nowhere, a man came to his house bearing horrible news: the kid died. Shot in his school by an armed assailant. The boy had seen the man point towards his friends and ran in front of them. The boy had died a hero, sacrificing his life so that someone else could live theirs. The man couldn't believe it, he was already used to the death of everyone around him, but this one was too much, even for him. He went on a search to find the person responsible for the kid's murder. No matter how many days passed, how many weeks or years it took, he swore to avenge his kid. Then came this one day, the one day he had waited for so long, the day he would finally be able to kill the man that took everything from him and when he finally got his chance, when the man was kneeling in front of him while he pointed his gun at him… he decided to let him go. He couldn't do it, the memory of that boy's smile had softened his heart to the point that he couldn't kill anymore. He went back to that house that now seemed so empty. He went up the stairs, sat in his bed… and finally pulled the trigger.
