Everyone remembers the old Mother Goose nursery rhymes.

Jack and Jill Went Up the Hill?

Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Wall?

Little Miss Muffet?

There was an Old Woman?

And the list goes on!

But what, you may be asking by now, is the contest?

Well, here it is:

Your challenge is to take a MOTHER GOOSE nursery rhyme (or a combination of them),

and write something based off that rhyme(s).

Say, for instance, you chose Jack and Jill went up the Hill.  You could write a short story or a poem (not limited to those) about how Jack and Jill started out.

An easy way to get started is to ask yourself, "Why were they sent to get the water?  Why was a well placed precariously on a big hill in the first place?  Did they ever get the water in the end?  Did Jack get a doctor for his broken crown?"

When I was younger, I thought that Jack was wearing an actual crown, like a prince.  It wasn't until years later that I realized "crown" also means the top of your head...xD

RULES:

1:  The rhyme you choose MUST BE a Mother Goose Rhyme.  If you need help with finding one, please ask.  I will be glad to refer you to some sites or otherwise.

2:  Your entry MUST HAVE some sort of allusion (direct or indirect reference to) the rhyme(s) you chose.

3:  Alice in Wonderland IS NOT a Mother Goose rhyme.  I promise you that, un-named person who just asked me if you could write that. :/

4:  Please let me know if you are entering by either commenting below or on my wall.

5:  You may withdraw your entry at any time BEFORE THE DEADLINE.

Now that the blasted rules are out of the way (yay!), here's your deadline:

APRIL 2nd, 2012

It must be on April the second, because I will probably be too busy hiding under the bed for April Fool's.  My family is nuts about this holiday...O.o

I hope you choose to be a part of my contest.

But the single most important element of this contest is TO HAVE FUN WITH IT!!

BUT WAIT

But Yoshie, what about the prizes????
