Lykron stared out over the city below him, subconsciously juggling his three balls.  The people below him were walking about their own ways.  Some walked together, as a couple, some as families, others alone, like him.  The streets were put in long shadows as the sun set below the horizon.

His serious green eyes were distant and unrevealing, though there was no one around to look into them as he was sitting atop the roof.

He blinked in surprise as a sudden gust of wind stole one of his balls.  He managed to catch two of them, but one fell to the far ground below.

Lykron cursed angrily.  He jumped up and hurried to the edge of the building, where the stairwell landing was loosely bolted to the side.  He jumped onto it with a loud clang, then rattled his way down to the ground.

All of the people had already gone, trying to make it into a shelter before the coming storm arrived.  The wind whooshed about him as he leaned down and picked up the ball.  He brushed it off and shoved it into his pocket with the others.  Lykron felt a chill and shuddered; the storm was coming more quickly than he thought it would.

He could hear a wind chime dinging somewhere in the distance.  He began to walk in the direction of his latest job, hands in his pocket and collar turned up from the biting breeze.

Lykron looked up at the wind chime as he passed it.  It seemed ominous, almost, against the black sky.  The bars then began to bang against each other violently as the wind picked up, tossing his hair furiously about his face.  The strength was so great that the chime broke away from its roost and clattered and skidded away across the damp ground.

He stared at it in shock for a moment, his cool eyes wide.  Lykron turned up to look at the sky, where a dark, heavy funnel was forming.  The wind began to howl like a demon as the tip of the funnel reached for the ground.

Lykron hesitantly took a few steps backwards, reaching out to touch a lamp post.  Metal groaned and creaked around him, pulled by the force of the raging tornado.

Then it touched the ground and began to move, tearing up houses and ripping up signs from the pavement.  It took the boy’s legs a moment to decipher his brain’s instructions to run.

He took his first step just as a heavy piece of timber blind-sided him, knocking him out cold…

The wind promptly ceased, and everything settled.  Footsteps approached the unconscious and bleeding boy.  "My bad," chuckled Zander.
