They took the papers

And threw them in the trash

The memories written on those papers

Mixed emotions put into words on the papers

The effort it took, the time felt wasted

How could you ever write again?

Looking through lost files of the mind

Searching every inch of the brain

Where was it?

The light bulb had went out

The emotion was lost

The thought died

Anger and frustration

It can't be written again

Not like it was before

It's changed, rearranged, making you deranged

?The words won't flow

It's a rapid river

Not a calm stream

The imagination isn't the same

And it never will be

The memories are forever lost
