Someone asked how to escape Depression, this is my response

One never "escapes" depression. From my vantage point. If diagnosed with a true case of depression it is a constant battle.Sometimes it just sits there, waiting, minding its own business. At night it sits there in the dark watching you, just beyond the rim of visible light.
Then when you forget it's following you,  it sucker punches you in the chest.Smashes a granite slab over your head, kicks you in the ribs so you don't think about getting up.When you fight against it, and do get up to move along the day,  it kicks and punches you like a wild street gang.
Beaten, bruised and pumped full of pharmaceuticals,  you check the calendar.  Day in, night out, day in, night out.Eventually, Depression gets tired and leaves you alone, slowly.
The bruised soul, broken mind heal with time. Some call it living, some call it survival, others call it a battle.I call it hell.

Whoa. Such a touching response. I sensed more in the tone than just a reply. I felt strength and power from this simple answer. Suicide is such a sensitive topic to talk about, but how you did seems realistic. You gave depression visual and concrete examples that create a image in my head. Well done! Such an amazing piece with great diction and syntax! Keep up the awesome work!!
Have an amazing day!
