We only hurt the ones we love, then we cry, we regret.
And then we understand it's too late.

A Man I Couldn’t Keep

All those summer memories

Sandy beach, orange sunset

You and I were just two

```````````
You would stare, I would blush
You would kiss, I would hold
But where are you now?
```````````

All those little times I spent with you

Blue morning sunrise, coffee and a kiss

That you would always give

````````````
I’m sorry for not telling you
I’m sorry for not trusting you
I’m sorry
````````````

I never told you how much I love you

And due to that I lost you

You were a man I couldn’t keep

`````````````
All those rainy days
We spent them cuddling under the blanket
You were such a great but I wasn’t perfect
````````````

We had something together

We had a promise

But I never kept it

`````````````
I’m sorry for not telling you
I’m sorry for not believing you
I’m sorry
``````````````

I never told you how much I need you

And due to that I never had you

You were a man I couldn’t keep

`````````````
You loved me in the summer, in the winter
You loved me all the time
But I only loved you when I felt hurt
`````````````

I’m sorry for not telling you

I’m sorry for not loving you enough

I’m sorry

```````````````
You were a man I couldn’t keep
You were a man I couldn’t love enough
You were a man I couldn’t have
This shows that love has many emotions, and it is not crying or hate that is the most powerful. It is regret,because if you hurt someone, they leave and fly away, and you always regret losing the person you loved more than life.
This is sympathetic is the most haunting form, because a person is baring their soul at their own mistake, knowing it is too late.
Such beautiful colourful metaphors you use here, and it gives the landscape that was once beautiful, and the crying tears are now the rain outside.
This is so true, because of the pain. We always regret one thing the most, and this made me believe that more.
The soul bared, with the sadness and beauty to matching. Beautiful and haunting Yulia.
Sad. Reminds me of when I was a teenager in love in my first real relationship. Thee ending was catastrophic for me. Like in this poem. Good one.
This is beautiful written! You did a great job of being descriptive! It was taking me on a journey while I was reading it. I know how much regret you must have had but that experience brought about this wonderful poem. :) Keep up the amazing work!!
Actually, it isn't my regret for anything! It's just a poem with a wide imagination!
It's so good! It sounds like a book about love, like a plot of the story. It's nicely in all respect. I would be proud if I could create such imagery. It is so alive!
I adore this poem.
