For a short while
I dated this girl

She had exquisitely
dark eyes
that reminded me
of fall
right before
the leaves fell,
a deep sexy voice
and lips that honestly
could revive a
lifeless heart.

About once
maybe twice
a week
we would
get into these
Always ending
with this

Never knowing
how the fight started
neither of us ever knew
how to fix it.

She would just sit there
looking away from me
with those beautiful
lips puckered into a
disgusted and tight formation.
Meanwhile, I would fidget
with words to try and
get her to revive my heart
once more.

I knew eventually I would
be unable to find
the correct ones necessary
and my heart would
sit stagnant once again.

I tried very hard to
savor her while
she still chose me
to lay next to.

Sometimes, even now
while I sleep
I still hear her breathing.
And in my deepest
of dreams
I can still feel her
soft porcelain skin

Regardless I wake up alone
begging from my twisted
insides for her to come back
and care enough just once
more to start an argument
we can't finish.
