How could I?

How could I be so selfish? Selfish to think only for me, to ignore what’s truly eating me away.

If I were to move on… to be just me, no one else but the true me. I would walk through darkness. Pushing the shadows, crawling through evil, searching and grasping the little sparkle that could be left. I could be selfish. The voices would shout and scream. The claws of torment would follow...there would be no oxygen to inhale, no light to witness my despair.

I could be selfish. To think only for me, without fear... to breathe in my own air, to finally see what was unknown…

Yes. I can be selfish.
