No Walden Pond for my wishing penny,

An elusive solace, if there was any,

Bruised my aspirations forever.

His wires, long needles of suffering,

Stalled my CPU heart in buffering,

And my memories are severing.

I placed a monster in halls of gold;

I have grown miserable and old.

My aphid has eaten all the flowers;

I hear him screaming for hours

until his teeth wedge into the brain.

It began all prenatal, this abuse,

But no saviors were of use

because they were paid in the stain.

This abhorrent stain over fields of gold;

They brown over my eyes of old.

I cannot use insecticides on him

because my senses grew dim;

My aphid eternally feeds.

I cut at my fields so they may die,

But it only increased his bitter high,

Which embraced his misdeeds.

He left destitute traumas in gold

in pieces of jewelry I never sold.

He will devour my silent soul’s carcass

until my agony will, unfortunately, not pass.
