This is about friendships we've lost for no apparent reason and the frustration one feels when everything comes crashing down around your head.

LOVE’S ALTAR

Of a friendship long foregone

My heart sings a tale of woe

The shrine of memories bygone

Joyful rivers ceased to flow.

Whence did my arms a stranger beget?

My laughter’s chant did silence stifle

My starry dreams bowed to dark regret

And my fervor you did rile as trifle

Whence did you my fears unveil?

My faith subverted to doubt

A gentle breeze morphed to gale

So cries this pilgrim devout.

Such is my sorrowful pain

My heart’s peace I bid farewell

My woes into anger wane

Revenge’s allure does impel.

Of a friendship long foregone,

My heart roars a tale of rage,

The shrine of memories bygone,

My ire is yet to assuage.
