At the edge of sea and land,

On this vertex where I stand,

Where the widening sea collides against the sky,

As the dreamlike distance inundates the eye,

Dark fingers of jagged light descend,

From the heavens which they rend,

Through the ages and the storm,

Briefly lighting cloudy forms,

And at the ceiling of the mount,

Where the swirling clouds fragment,

Split for miles by golden light,

Stretching ever toward the night

Whose sombre eyes possess a glare,

Wheel through space devoid of air,

Who captivate this earthly crowd,

With all the silence of a cloud...
